The Partnership advances equitable, affordable housing policy at the federal level by bringing Connecticut’s housing needs, data, and community experience into national conversations.
Federal housing policy plays a major role in whether families, older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals experiencing homelessness can access safe, stable, affordable homes. Through our federal advocacy, The Partnership works to protect and expand critical housing resources, strengthen rental assistance, increase affordable housing production and preservation, and ensure that national policy decisions reflect the realities facing Connecticut communities.
As Connecticut’s state partner of the National Low Income Housing Coalition, we help inform and amplify a national housing agenda grounded in the needs of people with the lowest incomes. We also work with the New England Housing Network, alongside partners from Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont, to elevate shared regional priorities and strengthen collective advocacy on federal housing policy.
Our federal advocacy includes:
- Sharing Connecticut data and policy insights with national partners and federal decision-makers
- Supporting federal funding for rental assistance, homelessness services, affordable housing development, and preservation
- Elevating the impact of federal housing programs on Connecticut households and communities
- Mobilizing partners around timely federal advocacy opportunities
- Connecting Connecticut’s housing priorities to broader regional and national policy efforts
