The New England Housing Network (NEHN) is a broad coalition of housing and community development organizations from each of the New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) and the first regional response in the country to changes in federal housing and community development programs. As the CT partner of NEHN, the Partnership supports coordinated messaging across multiple states to carry more influence with Congressional and Executive offices, increasing the likelihood of funding and policy priorities being taken seriously. Joint advocacy helps to reduce fragmentation and competition between states and ensure HUD funding decisions reflect shared regional housing pressures that reflect real needs, not just isolated state perspectives. In its role with NEHN, the Partnership maintains regular, coordinated engagement with Congressional staff in both CT and Washington DC, fostering a trusting, working relationship that makes it easier to advance future housing priorities beyond a single budget cycle.
