The Research Associates Program engages Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) freelance writers and researchers to produce policy and research materials on affordable housing, community development, and housing insecurity in Connecticut.

The Research Associates Program offers the benefit of both competitive compensation ($25/hour) and opportunities to publish and present independent research.

Who Is Eligible To Apply?
Writers and researchers that identify as BIPOC and have an interest in public policy as it relates to affordable housing in Connecticut. Preference will be given to graduate and upper-level undergraduate students, though early career researchers are also welcome to apply.

How Do I Apply? 

Please send an email to samaila@pschousing.org with the following documents: 

• A copy of your resume 

• A short solo-authored writing sample (attach as “other”) 

• A cover letter that includes: 

• Any ideas for original writing or research that you would be interested in exploring, and  

• A short description of why you are interested in participating in the Research Associates Program. 
  
  

To ensure timely review and consideration, priority will be given to applications submitted on or before October 30, 2026. Applications received after this date will still be accepted but may be reviewed on a rolling basis, subject to availability and capacity.
