Connecticut’s rental voucher initiative, known as the Rental Assistance Program (RAP), is a state-funded program that parallels the federal Section 8 vouchers by providing long-term rental assistance in Connecticut. While federal vouchers are the most well-known rental assistance program nationwide, several states have created their own long-term rental assistance program designed to meet local housing needs.
Join us as we conduct a deep dive into state-funded rental voucher programs, including
- A presentation from the National Low Income Housing Coalition on a comprehensive national database on state-level housing programs
- A regional panel of government officials from CT, MA, and NJ to discuss best practices of long-term rental assistance programs
- A presentation of the report “A Right to Rental Assistance in Massachusetts: How Policy Change Can Advance Equitable Housing,” which explores the costs, benefits, and implementation considerations of moving towards a state universal voucher program.
Please join us at 9:30am for a casual in-person networking breakfast prior to the event kickoff at 10am. The event will be held at the Lyceum Conference Center on the 3rd floor of 227 Lawrence St, Hartford, CT, 06106
