Grants for the purpose of providing TA and pre-development funds in the planning of IHZs, the adoption of IHZ regulations and design standards, the review and revisions as needed of applicable subdivision regulations and applications for preliminary or final approval

  • pre-development costs of up to $20,000.
  • Zone Adoption Grants of up to $50,000154 to municipalities for the purpose of providing technical assistance
    and pre development funds in the planning of incentive housing zones, the adoption of incentive housing
    zone regulations, and design standard.
  • Building Permit Grants of up to $2,000 per multifamily unit and $5,000 per single family unit.
Target Population(s)

Any area with transit access or concentrated development, or due to other existing, planned, or proposed infrastructure improvement is suitable for development as an incentive housing zone.

Eligible Applicants
Eligible Project Size
- 6 units/acre for single-family housing - 10 units/acre for duplex or townhouse housing - 20 units/acre for multifamily housing
Other Eligibility Guidelines

Must be located within a DOH approved IHZ, is eligible for financial incentive payments, and sets aside lower cost units for a minimum of 20% of the households earning 80% or less of the area median income (AMI) for minimum of 30 years.
