Staff Bio: Nathan Fox

Field Organizer & Research Assistant

Nathan FoxNathan Fox came to the Partnership through Public Allies Connecticut, an Americorps program operating primarily in Hartford, New Haven and Bridgeport. During his 10-month term of service, Nathan is working to engage grassroots constituencies to help inform and advance policy development for the Reaching Home and HOMEConnecticut campaigns, as well as the preservation of already existing affordable housing. Nathan is also assisting the Policy Staff with ongoing research and outreach projects, including research into the considerations of young professionals when choosing where to live.

This is Nathan's second year in Public Allies. He came to Hartford in September 2009 for his first year of PA, working as the coordinator of the Hartford Homeless Point-in-Time Count. He also helped to coordinate a number of events within the Billings Forge community. He is proud to call Frog Hollow and Billings Forge home, where he lives in the house next door to the Lyceum with his girlfriend and best friend, both of whom are also Public Allies.

Prior to moving to Hartford, Nathan obtained a BA from NYU in Metropolitan Studies -a mix of urban studies, policy, economics and sociology. In New York, he volunteered and interned for a number of grassroots social justice organizations, including Housing Conservation Coordinators, where he came to better understand the need for stable and affordable housing if individuals are to live healthy and fulfilling lives.

Nathan will continue with the Partnership part-time as he completes his Masters of Social Work from the University of Connecticut.
