Staff Bio: Jane McNichol

Project Manager
Opening Doors Hospital Initiative

Jane McNichol joined the Partnership in January, 2016, to manage the Opening Doors Hospital Initiative. The Hospital Initiative encourages the development of Community Care Teams to address the needs of frequent users of hospital Emergency Departments who are homeless. Community Care Teams bring together health care and a wide range of other community providers to address the needs of identified individuals comprehensively. The Initiative, with support from the Connecticut Health Foundation and the United Health Foundation, seeks to demonstrate that this approach improves outcomes for frequent ED visitors and saves health care dollars.

Prior to joining the Partnership, Jane served for 17 years as the Executive Director of the Legal Assistance Resource Center of Connecticut, the policy advocacy branch of the state’s Legal Services programs. At LARCC, Jane focused on public policy related to Medicaid, in addition to other areas. Jane also served as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness from 1986 until 1996.

Jane has a J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law and a B.A. in history from Middlebury College.
