2012 Point in Time Count Underway


The 2012 Point in Time Count (PIT), conducted by the CT Coalition to End Homelessness (CCEH), will focus on the homeless children, families, and individuals that are sleeping in shelters. The PIT will take place on Wednesday, January 25, 2012. 

The data gathered from CT’s 2011 Point in Time Count (PIT) of homelessness was released last month. The PIT data showed a 37% increase in unsheltered homelessness from 2009 and an 8% overall increase in homelessness since 2009. 2011 also saw an increase in emergency shelter use from 2010. Family use rose 15% and children in emergency shelters rose 16% from 2010 numbers.
