Senate Subcommittee Proposes Largest McKinney-Vento Increase in 20 Years

On April 17 the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies released its FY2013 proposed funding for HUD programs including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Grants. The proposed funding includes $2.15 billion for the McKinney-Vento program, a $245 million increase, and $286 million for the Emergency Solutions Grant program.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) thanks everyone for their letters and calls and urges interested citizens to contact their senators to let them know you appreciate their commitment to the issue and how much it would mean if they supported the President’s $2.231 billion requested funding level.
