President Obama Makes Homelessness & Housing a Priority in FY16 Budget

The U.S. Office of Management and Budget’s proposed fiscal year 2016 Budget demonstrates President Obama’s commitment to maintaining affordable housing options and to ending homelessness.

Highlights from President Obama’s proposed budget:

These resources are critical to achieving the goals of ending Veteran homelessness by the end of 2015, chronic homelessness by the end of 2017, and family and youth homelessness by the end of 2020, as outlined in the national Opening Doors framework. Nationally, homelessness has decreased by 10% overall since 2010, with a 33% decline in Veteran homelessness, 21% decline in chronic homelessness, and a 15% decline in family homelessness.
