Reaching Home Releases Estimates of Housing Needs for Opening Doors–CT

Reaching Home Campaign

The Reaching Home Campaign has distributed the final Estimates of Need for Housing Assistance among the Targeted Populations for Opening Doors–CT, the state-wide plan to end and prevent homelessness among families, youth and children, those who are chronically homeless, and veterans.* The central sources of data used for these estimates are CT HMIS and the Point in Time Count (PIT). The best available research and past trends were also factors in determining the estimates.

*Please note that although “Other Adults without Children” who are not chronically homeless are not a targeted population for Opening Doors-CT, estimates were included for the housing assistance that will be needed to address those who are Veterans and the supportive housing needed for adults who are at risk of chronic homelessness.
