New Guide to Veterans Permanent Supportive Housing

National Housing Conference and the Center for Housing Policy

The National Housing Conference and the Center for Housing Policy have released a new guide Veterans Permanent Supportive Housing: Policy and Practice that details solutions to the challenges faced by veterans who are homeless.

The guide focuses on the use of permanent supportive housing to assist homeless veterans, which relies on the combination of (1) little to no hard debt, (2) property-based rental assistance, and (3) dedicated funding for supportive services.

The report offers four case studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of these policies, including one from Connecticut, the American Legion Apartments in Jewett City.
