Activists and housing advocates have teamed up at nationwide Occupy Wall Street protests in several places to bring discussion and action around income inequality, local housing issues and foreclosures. The National Low Income Housing Coalition reports that in New York, Rhode Island, California and other states, housing advocacy organizations have been working with Occupy organizers and activists to bring the issue of housing justice to the protests.
The Huffington Post reports that in Minneapolis and San Francisco , Occupy protesters have begun an “Occupy Our Homes” movement to prevent foreclosure for residents who are in danger of their homes being repossessed.
