HUD Announces Grant Funding to Eliminate Lead and Health Hazards

On March 18, 2016 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that over $100 million in grants will be made available to states and local communities to establish programs to eliminate health and safety hazards of low-income households, including housing improvements such as assessing and remediating lead-based paint.

HUD will be making available $43 million in funding through its Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Program and $45 million through its Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Program.
