On December 20, 2011, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan awarded $1.47 billion to renew funding for state and local homeless programs throughout the country, $62 million more than the $1.41 billion awarded in 2010.  The seven Connecticut CoCs have been awarded $30.9 million, up from the $29.7 million awarded in 2010.  HUD reports they will renew funding to the Continuums of Care (CoC) as quickly as possible to avoid a break in federal asssitance to existing local programs.
