A Dollars and Sense Strategy to Reducing Frequent Use of Hospital Services


This report from the Frequent Users of Health Services Initiative studied six counties in California where programs for frequent users of emergency services have made quantitative changes in a positive direction. The report found that for clients enrolled in these preventative programs with support services, emergency room visits decreased 61%, and days spent in inpatient facilities decreased 62%.
