CT Undecided on How to Use National Mortgage Settlement Funds

Enterprise has released a paper detailing how states are using their allotment of the $2.5 billion National Mortgage Settlement funds. The report found that 26 states are using almost all of the funds for housing. Nine states are using part of the funds for housing, seven states are not using any of the funds for housing and eight states are open to suggestion for how to distribute the funds.

Connecticut will receive a $26,102,142 allocation of funds and is one of the states that has not made decisions on how its funds will be used and is open to using the funds for housing. The Attorney General has recommended to lawmakers that the funds should be spent on programs related to foreclosures in CT.
