Connecticut Housing Coalition Seeking Applications for Affordable Housing Academy

The Connecticut Housing Coalition has issued a Request for Applications for the 2016 Affordable Housing Academy. Housing developers and owners seeking technical assistance regarding how to finance their affordable housing development are encouraged to apply. Applications from development teams with projects that have site control and are targeting deep income populations as part of their income mix will be given priority.

This is a competitive grant program that provides the following:

1.    (3) two-day comprehensive and highly interactive training seminars;
2.    Specialized training on various topics, including meeting the state's financing requirements for its capital programs;
3.    Individualized technical assistance and project troubleshooting between training seminars;
4.    Assistance in identifying pre-development capital to "jump-start" projects where needed; and
5.    Project review and feedback from the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, the State Department of Housing, Tax Credit investors and lenders on the project concept and structuring.
